Say NO to material war, but YES to the spiritual one

Personally, I believe that the war that is taking place in the world is a great pit of hell, both spiritually and materially. But, on the other hand, I believe that God finds the necessary resources to save souls even in such odious actions. War can be of two kinds: the spiritual war, which we should all wage, but of which we are not all aware, and the material war, the one that we helplessly witness and which is taking place in different parts of the world. The reasons for material wars are also of a spiritual nature, these starting from the lack of certain virtues of the leaders of the world's states, or, in other words, because of some passions from which they suffer, such as the passion of the need for power, or the love of money.

If we all turned our gaze to God, and tried our best to fight our inner war, to the detriment of the outer one, surely material wars would disappear and we would live in a better world, in a world where the peace of God would dwell, instead of the division and lies of the evil one. But this requires our conscience to be alive, active, and directed towards acquiring the virtues and peace of God and not towards that of sharing in evil, be it both external and internal.

I have chosen to fight the spiritual war because its eternal benefits far outweigh those of approving temporary, meaningless wars, in which people die, and so many deeds are committed that are devoid of kindness and love.

How do I disapprove of material wars?

Although I can't do much, in my simplicity, I have chosen to do three things:

  1. Never open the topic of discussion for or against wars;
  2. Not to share opinions about wars or their consequences in discussions opened by someone else;
  3. No longer follow with fervor, and no longer share news related to them.

Even if it doesn't seem like much, doing something concrete against war gives me peace of mind.
