Our joy is born from Christ’s victory over death

Our joy is born from Christ’s victory over death, in which He makes us sharers so that we may know His eternal and admirable love.

We rejoice that He is not only the goal to which we aspire, towards which we move, but He is the door that opens to us towards eternal life.

We rejoice that He accompanies us, as He accompanied the two travelers from Jerusalem to Emmaus: He approached them delicately, imperceptibly, He accompanied them step by step, then He explained to them the mystery of existence and the meaning of their lives.

Seen or unseen, whether we are not aware of it or whether we suddenly become aware of it, He walks alongside us, expanding our hearts, our spirits, our souls, knocking at the door that leads our life to His life, waiting, asking, begging that it be opened to Him, that it be entrusted to Him so that eternity can pass through it.

But He is also the Way, and at every step taken on this path, at every moment we are in Christ and with Christ, having a hope above all hope, a certainty of faith as a pledge and foretaste of divine love.

Metropolitan Anthony of Souroj
