The miracle performed with a dead bird
Our lives are full of miracles. Life itself is a miracle, but God sometimes allows our minds to be enlightened and our eyes to be opened, so that we can see and understand the miracles He has done in our lives. No, He does not do it for our own worthiness, but also for the benefit of others and so that He, the Giver of Life, may be worshipped and glorified.
Such a miracle happened to me 2 or 3 years ago, when on a hot summer day, while I was outside, I saw a dead bird (quite large, I might say) in our parking space. Not knowing what to do with it, and after thinking a little, two solutions came to my mind. The first solution would have been to go and get the dead bird and throw it in the trash, but thinking about it more carefully, I realized that I would have done a great injustice to the other tenants, and the bird would most likely start to smell very bad due to rotting. The second solution would have been to leave the dead bird in its place, hoping that the cleaning lady would take it and throw it somewhere, most likely also in the trash. So the second solution didn't sound very good either. Finding myself in a situation where I didn't know what to do, I prayed to God (with a little skepticism, I admit) that He would find a solution, because He would surely do it better than I.
Well, the next day, completely forgetting about the bird and the fact that I had left it in the warm parking space, I had to go and get something from the car. When I got to the car, I saw a sea of ants behind it (an entire army I could say - because there was a carpet of ants half the size of the car). The first thought that came to my mind was to glance at the dead bird in the parking lot, but I was amazed when I saw that there was only a feather left of that bird (and no, it is not a metaphor, it really was like that, there was a feather left of the bird). I realized then how great God is, and how beautifully He works through people and nature.
Glory to God for everything that happens in our lives!
