Parents' prayer for their sons

Lord, God of heaven and earth, who in Your wisdom formed man from the dust and breathed into his face the breath of life, making him a living being, a temporal and eternal being; then blessing him You said: “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it”; and in Cana of Galilee through Your Only Son, Jesus Christ, You blessed the wedding and thereby the birth of sons and daughters, with deep humility we beg You, help us with Your Gift, always to fulfill our duties as parents in the good upbringing of our children.

Lord, God of mercies, have mercy on us and our house, and in Your great goodness, pour out Your Grace abundantly upon all our children. Have mercy, Lord, on our children, whom You have given us.

Most merciful Lord, who gives food to the birds of the air and to all the creatures of the earth, You who guard the flower that springs up among the rocks, nourish, grow, and guard our children well. Help us, Lord, to plant in their being everything that is good and useful to the Holy Church, the nation, and well-pleasing to You, so that through them Your Holy Name may be greatly magnified. Fill them, Lord, with the enlightened wisdom and holy understanding that descend from You. Defend them from all the snares of enemies seen and unseen. Command Your angels to always be their enlightened guides and advisors, to all good deeds.

We pray to You, Lord, open their minds so that they may know You as much as possible. Amen.
