A miracle with a trinity – Christ on the cross speaks to those who mocked Him
In India, some of our Christian missionaries preach the Gospel with zeal, especially the Catholic ones. A poor missionary succeeded in converting to the Christian faith a few families of those Hindus, believers of Brahma Krisna. And those, converting to Christianity, the missionary erected in their village a trinity, a cross of Christ carved in wood, with the Savior, in natural size, and decorated it beautifully.
Those who had believed in Christ worshiped the cross of the crucified Savior and that holy trinity. And the other pagans, who were many, as they are today, set out with great hatred against those few Christians and beat and killed them, martyring them because they believed in Christ. Yes, they went to that little cross where Christ was crucified and began to mock and spit on the Savior on the cross, beating Him with clubs and smearing His Cross with dirt. And when they were in the midst of these mockeries, the Savior on the cross turned His Face to the right, towards them, and said: Why do you mock Me?
When they saw that the One they were spitting on turned His face like a living man and asked them why they were mocking Him, some died of fear, and the others ran to their teachers, from the pagan Sanskrit law, and said:
‒ Come and see a miracle! We mocked Christ and saw with our own eyes how He turned His Face and said to us: Why do you mock Me?
And they all went, and when their teachers saw that the Savior stood with His face turned away, they were afraid and were all baptized, and a great earthquake seized the inhabitants of that land. And where the Holy Trinity was, there is today a great cathedral. And that divine cross with the Savior who turned His face away, was and is to this day in the altar of that cathedral.
And thus the Savior struck terror into those who mocked Him, only to turn them to the path of repentance.
So, my brothers, if only this sign from the cross of Christ was able to make people die alive, to turn them to repentance and to awaken so many souls, what will it be when the Savior comes on the clouds of heaven and when the cross of Christ, brought with great glory by millions and millions of archangels and angels, will shine millions of times brighter than the sun?
