If you take revenge, you remain indebted to God. If you do not take revenge, God remains indebted to you…

And you confess incompletely with how many of these things you do: you judge, you speak evil, and they are all recorded.

It is easy to say: “Look what he did!”, but you do not know why he did it, and you do not know his return with tears. And do you not hear that he is more loved by God, if he returns, than the one who did not fall? And what do you do? Because a habit has been created, and this is stupid, to easily speak evil of another: “What, am I the only one talking? What, is he not worth it? What do I not see that he is doing?”

Brothers, there is nothing in God’s creation, not a blade of grass, that God does not know about. Is it only grass that God is more interested in than people? And then, of course, we are persecuted. And dedication is required of us. You want to overcome: humble yourselves and do not judge anyone. Because in this way you will be free. Otherwise not.

You live your life according to other people's sins because you do not restrain yourself from judging them. lion things by comparison. “I am not like that!” and you compare yourself with a man whom you call a scoundrel. Why don’t you compare yourself with the Holy Apostle Peter, or Paul, or Saint Silouan the Athonite? Why don’t you compare yourself with various well-known Fathers, who lead a chosen life? The Savior says, “Love your enemies,” those who do you harm. As the saying goes: “He told me, and I told him, and I will tell him!” Not only do you not forgive him, but you also think of revenge against him. Do you want revenge? I teach you: to love him and to remember him in prayer. Because if you take revenge, you remain indebted to God. If you don't take revenge, God remains indebted to you, and it's better that way, because the Scripture also says: "Vengeance is Mine."
